Participated as a Guardian on a previous flight to be an Assistant Bus Captain

Fulfilled the role of Assistant Bus Captain to be a Bus Captain

Attended at least 3 events (fundraisers, outreach, medical clearance, etc.) in the past year

Attended at least 6 of the last 9 meetings in the last year

Staff Assignment Descriptions

Bus Captain Duties

​

1. Report to Trip Director.

2. Attend meetings pertaining to the trip.

3. Primary communications on assigned bus to give the Veterans and Guardians current and accurate information and direction.

4. Keep order on the buses during all travel.

5. Assure safety on the bus as well as at the memorials and museums.

6. Assure that the Guardians are assisting the Veterans assigned to them as needed.

7. Assign Bus Stair Monitors and Wheelchair Wranglers.

8. Help with Luggage Check-In and Airport duties for your assigned bus.

9. Other duties that may arise that the Trip Director deem necessary.

Assistant Bus Captain Duties

​

1. Report to Bus Captain.

2. Attend meetings pertaining to trip.

3. Maintain accurate head count/roll on bus at all times.

4. Help to assure that everyone on the bus is getting their meals, water, and snacks as needed.

5. Help with Veterans during room assignments and at mealtime as needed.

6. Oversee the Wheelchair Wranglers and Stair Monitors during stops.

7. Other duties as assigned by the Bus Captain.
