Since its founding in 2012 by local veterans, the South Plains Honor Flight has been proudly serving the West Texas community, coordinating unforgettable trips for our nation's heroes – World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans. Now approaching its 11th annual mission, this initiative has become a cherished tradition, made possible through the unwavering support of the South Plains community.

Our mission is clear: to provide local veterans with a meticulously organized, three-day, all-expenses-paid trip, allowing them to experience the memorials erected in their honor. The journey begins with our heroes soaring on a chartered Southwest Airlines jet, traveling to the heart of our nation's capital.

Since 2013, we've helped over 1,000 veterans take flight on this three-day journey, creating countless memories and forging bonds that last a lifetime. In 2024, we embark on our 11th mission, and we invite you to join us in honoring these heroes.

During this meaningful excursion, veterans visit the iconic World War II, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials alongside three esteemed military museums dedicated to preserving the memory of their sacrifices. A poignant visit to Arlington National Cemetery includes witnessing the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and participating in wreath-laying ceremonies—a tangible connection between their bravery and the enduring legacy of freedom.
